We add hops to the beer brewing process both to balance the sweetness of the malt and also to add those intense, complex flavours and aromas you get in many of our ales. Think citrus, pine, tropical, and floral notes. Most of our beers are dry-hopped, which means hops are added later in the brewing process. This is also done at a cooler temperature, instead of boiling the hops, which helps keep the bitterness low and allows for the delicate aroma profiles to shine through. Forward Progress intentionally blends Citra and Mosaic hops that burst with those citrus and pine flavours. 

Citra hops are one of the most coveted high-impact aroma hops. They have a strong citrusy profile, with notes of grapefruit, lime and tropical fruits that come through. Their popularity grew alongside the rise of craft beer and revolutionized hop flavour in many beer styles, especially IPAs. Often seen alongside Citra, Mosaic hops are a complex aroma hop prized for its intense layered profile of tropical fruit, berries, citrus, and subtle earthy pine. They are pleasantly hoppy and offer a clean but layered flavour profile. Complex, but still reliable, these hops together create a foundational beer with universal appeal.
